About the teacher: Noa Oren

I’m Noa, a dedicated practitioner of yoga and Buddhism, the student of the monk Pre Ofer, walking this path since 2017, and maybe even from past lives, who knows.

A few dry details: I studied psychology at university, and I’m a 500-hour certified yoga teacher through Yoga Inbound and Yoga Alliance. I’ve trained in Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Yin yoga in India, Colombia and Israel.

After a few years of practice, I was lucky to meet teachers who helped me see that yoga goes far beyond asana and pranayama.

Through both courses and self-study, I began to dive deeply into texts like the Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Sankhya Karikas.

Alongside this, I developed a strong meditation practice and have completed multiple Vipassana retreats- ranging from 3 to 15 days- and plan to continue practicing many more.

Alongside my work in yoga, I worked as an occupational rehabilitation coordinator in a head injury and cancer institute, supporting people dealing with mental health challenges. I also volunteered teaching yoga in a drug and gambling recovery center.

Across all of these experiences, I kept seeing the same thing: people from very different backgrounds struggle in similar ways, not because of their circumstances, but because they don’t understand how the mind works, and so they are controlled by it.

This is why I believe that studying yoga philosophy is not just interesting, it can fundamentally change the way we relate to ourselves and to life.

I created Knowing to share the wisdom of these teachings.

I believe that in the West, yoga has become mostly a physical practice, and we often miss the deeper understanding of its origins and essence of the way of living called “yoga”.So my goal is to teach these texts and show how to take their ideas into everyday situations and experiences- to make your mind your best friend, even in your low moments.

Hope you’ll join me.
